“CINDERELLA’S CLOSET”

2008

 

    Every teenage girl dreams of going to the prom. For some girls, the cost is totally out of reach. What becomes of that dream?

    A group of “Fairy Godmothers” at Concord Baptist Church wants to help grant the wishes of these “Cinderella’s” and make the DREAM come true. Our goal is to help these girls shoulder the financial burden of a dream outfit by providing it free! This opportunity is opened to all girls of Middle and High School age in Caroline County and all surrounding areas!

 

   WISH LIST:

  • New or gently used gowns – long or short. They should be clean, of recent styles – spring, prom style gowns. All sizes are needed – 0 on up to plus sizes.
  • New or gently used evening bags and shoes.
  • Jewelry and hair accessories and hosiery.
  • New, unopened cosmetics nail polish, perfume. Sample sizes are fine.
  • Cash donations
  • Area businesses or  individuals willing to donate services or a reduced fee for the service (hair styling, nails, corsages, alterations)

    We will be collecting all items now through April 13, 2007. The shopping date will be Saturday, April 19, 2008, 10 a.m. until 5p.m. in Pendleton Hall at Concord Baptist. We are located at 15625 Concord Road near the Frog Level Fire Department.

    The Caroline Middle School Spring Dance is being held on Friday, June 6 and the Caroline High School Prom on Saturday, June 7. Make your plans now to shop early at Cinderella’s Closet.

UPDATES TO CINDERELLA’S CLOSET

 

*2007 marked our first year with this ministry. We were able to help 7 girls.

 

 *2/09/08-- We have a volunteer to do nails this year! Appointments can be made on shopping day.

            Wrist corsages and boutonnières will be available this year. They will be made with white carnations accented with baby’s breath and fern with an iridescent or white ribbon. Boutonnières will be made with carnations, too. Orders can be placed on the shopping date or up to 2 weeks prior to the prom.
