“Cinderella’s Closet 2010”
***Saturday, March 27, 2010, 9am to 1 pm at Concord Baptist Church***
15625 Concord Road Ruther Glen, Virginia
“Cinderella’s Closet”", a ministry of Concord Baptist Church, wants to help you and your middle school or high school daughter go to her prom in style. We understand the difficulties of families in these tough economic times. The cost of these events can be just too much. We understand that. We, also, understand the dreams of these girls and want to help.
The “FAIRY GODMOTHERS” at Concord understand and know the pressures of today’s society. We want our girls to feel good about themselves and to realize how very special they are in God’s eye. We endorse the PROM PROMISE of sexual, alcohol and drug abstinence. We want our girls to know that it is ok to say NO to all these pressures.
On Saturday, March 27 2010, we will open our closet for shopping. It will be filled with beautiful dresses (some right off the racks from New York). Some of our dresses are “gently used”, but many of them are new with tags still on them. We have dresses in all sizes from very small to plus. There is also a limited amount of shoes and purses. All items are on a first come-first served basis. Each girl is allowed 1 dress and that girl must be present to select the dress. If you donate a dress this year or return a dress, you will be eligible to pick a small token of appreciation from our “Gift Basket”.
The most wonderful part of this is that there is NO COST to any of the girls. We ask no questions and there are no criteria that you have to meet. The Caroline County School System and Social Services have been very supportive in reaching girls in our area.
Watch the Caroline Progress for upcoming notices. Visit us on the web at www.concordbaptistva.com. Contact Jeannie Ball at 633-6786 or Diane Boone at 994-5251 for more information. You can, also, contact the church.
We ask for your prayers as we plan this shopping day. We hope to see you and your daughter there!! |
